When the first Yard House restaurant opened in 1996, we knew our unique concept had the potential to revolutionize the food industry. We wanted to create the largest draft beer system on the planet. And we did. Faster than you can say “get me a beer,” we became one of Southern California’s favorite hangouts.
Of course, it wasn’t easy. With such a massive selection and the amount of volume, our draft beer system had to be a true feat of engineering: a complex and monumental network, with its heart in a two-story keg room. There are miles of beer lines. Yes, miles. Lines that stretch from the keg room to the main bar.
And that’s not all: A system of individual pumps circulates nearly 2,000 gallons of refrigerant per hour to keep every beer fresh and perfectly chilled. So when we say “beer is in our roots,” you can be sure those roots run deep… and very, very cold.
